So one day I found myself standing in the garden section of our local hardware store, staring at a wall of garden seeds with no idea of what to choose or when to grow it. Packet instructions such as ‘sow deep direct’ and ‘when the first truss has set’ was like reading a foreign language. I had no idea where to start. I left the store seedless.
HAS GARDENING BECOME A LOST ART?
There’s a lot to learn! It can be hard work keeping a plant alive!
So learn, I did. I started with my first veggie patch crates and killed my first dozen seedlings.
My husband still mocks me for covering all my crates with glad wrap (in the middle of summer) to create ‘hot houses’ and I wondered why they didn’t survive the afternoon… ☺
So after years of trial and error I came to realise there isn’t really a trick to gardening, we just need to create an environment that supports the growth of specific plants. But it doesn’t need to be as complicated as it may seem.
